WELCOME NEW BROTHER

Please welcome Mitchell Huppert to the Cary Lodge. Bro. Huppert was raised on October 20.

MASONIC CHARITIES GOLF TOURNAMENT

On October 27, the lodge held its First Annual Masonic Golf Tournament. We had 61 golfers who braved the cold and rain. The lodge raised just over $1600 in profit for our charities. Not bad for the first time.

We want to thank all who contributed in any fashion and look forward to your help next year.

SICK, INJURED, OR HOSPITALIZED

Your lodge Brothers want to know. Believe it or not, the members of YOUR lodge do want to hear from you.

Please call one of the lodge officers so the information can be communicated to the lodge.

DEMOLAY FUND-RAISER

The Raymond B. Morgan Chapter will be selling Christmas trees this year as a fund-raiser. If you are interested in the type of trees available, contact Jonathan Lehman or any member of the DeMolay Chapter.

Help support the youth. They are the future of our organization.

--------------------------------------

1998 dues are due by January 1. To be in good standing in your lodge, you must have a current dues card. Please help your lodge by paying on time. Thanks to the brethren who have already paid for next year.

LADIES AND AWARDS NIGHT

Our Annual Ladies and Awards Night is scheduled for Saturday, November 15 at 7pm. As in the past, we will have dinner (cooked by Bro. Sam Barnhill) served at 7pm. The awards for 25 and 50 year members will be given out after dinner with entertainment to follow.

Please plan to attend and bring your lady.

SCOTTISH RITE NEWS

Three brothers recently received their Scottish Rite degrees at the Fall Reunion. Scott Chain, Thomas Davenport, and Scott Rose all received their 32° .

Kevin Hall has been named as the Ambassador to the Scottish Rite, Valley of Raleigh, who represents the Cary Lodge. Each lodge in the Valley of Raleigh has an Ambassador who is responsible for promoting the Scottish Rite in his lodge.

Scott Chain and Scott Rose became members of the Amran Temple on Saturday, November 1.

YORK RITE NEWS

Robert Ransdell became a member of the York Rite on Saturday, November 1.

JOBS DAUGHTERS

This organization is for young ladies between the ages of 11 and 20 who have a Masonic relationship.

Raleigh Bethel #2 is the local group of young ladies and they meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays at the Masonic Temple located at 1520 Caswell St. in Raleigh. They are very active in the Raleigh area and are proud of their accomplishments in competitions.

All Masons are welcomed and encouraged to attend their meetings. If you know of a young lady who has a Masonic relationship and would be interested in joining this wonderful organization, please call The Masonic Temple at 821-0565.

ANNUAL COMMUNICATION

December 1 is the Lodge Annual Communication where we elect our officers for 1998. Please plan to attend and support your Lodge.

INSTALLATION OF OFFICERS

Saturday, December 6 at 7 pm has been scheduled for the open installation of officers for 1998. Plan to attend with your family and show your support as the newly elected and appointed officers assume their duties.

This is an open installation, so the public is welcomed to join us.

DISTRICT SCHOOL OF INSTRUCTION

On Saturday, November 8 the 26th Masonic District held their School of Instruction at Green Level Lodge # 277. All five lodges in the district were present. Cary Lodge had eight members present for the six hours of Masonic instruction in the ritual.

The next school is scheduled for the early part of 1998 and will be hosted by Fuquay Lodge #258. Details will follow in the January newsletter.

DEGREE WORK IN 1997

Our lodge had an active year in degree work as we initiated, passed and raised five members. We’ll wait to see what 1998 has in store.

TRESTLE BOARD NEWS

This issue is being published earlier than originally planned. The officers wanted to get out the information on the Annual Communication and the date of installation.

The next issue is tentatively planned for around January 15, 1998.
