WELCOME NEW BROTHERS

.The following brothers were raised on March 3:

Thomas H. Davenport, Jr. Eric Chamberlain, as a courtesy of Adobe Lodge # 41, Tucson, AZ. Eric affiliated to Cary #198 on June 16.

ST. JOHNíS DAY

On Saturday June 21, Masons from across NC converged on the grounds of the Masonic Home for Children at Oxford, NC. The annual event of St. Johnís Day was another success. Thanks to Bro. Lloyd Young, PM and his staff for organizing the event.

The shrine temples of NC put on another good show as the parade went through downtown Oxford and ended at the main administration building of the home.

Mark your calendar next year for St. Johnís Day which will be held on June 20, 1998.

SPRING BBQ REPORT

Our Spring BBQ was a tremendous success. Many thanks to all brothers who participated to make this another successful fund raiser. This fund raiser was for the North Carolina Masonic Foundation.

Preparations will began for the fall event when a date is set in the near future.

NEW TENANTS

The lodge recently leased office space to Cary Wesleyan Church. They will also be using the dining room facilities for Sunday worship. If anyone needs the dining room, please call Elbert Hockaday so arrangements can be made to have the church remove their equipment (stage, etc.).

DEGREE WORK

Your lodge is doing degree work. Mark your calendar for the following events:

July 7 (stated communication): First Degree

July 12 (Saturday) Breakfast 8am

Second Degree 9am

Plan to attend and support YOUR lodge and our new brothers.

SICKNESS AND HOSPITALIZATION

If you are or know of a brother who is in ill health or is hospitalized, please contact one of the officers. Words of encouragement and/or a visit can go a long way to the road to recovery.

MASONIC FUNERALS

We need help! Please, if you are asked to help in a Masonic Funeral, take the time to attend. This is a beautiful and well deserved honor to a brother who has gone to "that celestial Lodge above." This is one ceremony where we as Masons can show the general public a little bit of our tradition.

If you have never been called, please contact one of the officers to be put on the call list. If you are interested in learning the ceremony, call Walter Highsmith, Jr.

TRESTLE BOARD NEWS

Any Brother who has news of interest dealing with Masonry and would like it to be included in the Trestle Board, contact Kevin Hall.

The next issue is scheduled for print around September 15.
